Kitchener Wedding Venue: Rockway Gardens

stone arch in a garden setting in Kitchener

Beautiful Outdoor Wedding Space

This Kitchener wedding venue is a glorious display of Victorian style gardens, fountains, arches and benches. There are stunning flower displays throughout the summer and fall and it also has ponds, special trees and, as the name suggests, lots of rocky areas.

Rockway Gardens is designed and maintained by the Kitchener Gardening Society and garden Kitchener which is also affiliated with the Ontario Horticultural Association and is the largest horticultural society in the province.

These gardens are open to the public and available for events and weddings without the need for payment or reservations. The summer months are very busy and the spaces operate on a first come first served basis.

When I was there on a Saturday afternoon in August there were 2 wedding photoshoots in progress with several visitors roaming around in the vicinity. Everyone gave each other space and just took turns at the different shooting locations and it seemed to work out just fine. I think the space is perfect for an intimate ceremony and wedding photography but not quite suitable for a reception. Also tehre is no night lighting or electrical outlets or public washrooms so definitely keep that in mind when you’re considering this wedding venue for your ceremony or photography. It is really the perfect spot for lovers of nature, water and victorian architecture.
